To further advance the integration of industry and education as well as the convergence of science and education, and build a channel for collaborative innovation and joint cultivation of professional talents among industry, university and research institutes, Liu Yu, Deputy Party Secretary of Qilu University of Technology (Shandong Academy of Sciences), led an expert team from Kyiv College to visit Tai’an Baichuan Paper Co., Ltd. on July 18 for a special research activity focusing on enterprise visits for job expansion and Party-building exchanges. Zhao Xue, Kuang Wei and other deputy mayors accompanied the inspection. Pan Shangfu, Chairman of the company, received the delegation throughout the visit and organized a forum for university-enterprise exchanges.
During the research visit, university experts and accompanying officials toured the production workshops and R&D laboratories. They gained an in-depth understanding of the company’s full-process production technology for specialty paper, operation of intelligent production lines, new product R&D system and market layout. On-site discussions were held regarding technical bottlenecks and efficiency improvement solutions for core products including vegetable parchment paper, stainless steel interleaving paper and single-gloss white kraft paper, allowing the delegation to fully grasp the practical development demands of the enterprise.
At the forum, Chairman Pan Shangfu extended a warm welcome to the delegation from Qilu University of Technology. He gave a comprehensive introduction to the company’s current production and operation status, R&D layout of high-end specialty paper as well as medium and long-term industrial development plans, and elaborated on the practical demands of the enterprise in tackling technical difficulties of specialty paper production and reserving professional technical personnel. He reviewed the long-standing and stable university-enterprise cooperation foundation built between the company and Qilu University of Technology, and expressed sincere gratitude to the university for its strong support to Baichuan Paper over the years, including technical research and development backing, cultivation and supply of papermaking professionals, and guidance on cutting-edge production processes.
Deputy Party Secretary Liu Yu elaborated on the strengths of Qilu University of Technology’s two flagship disciplines—Light Industry & Papermaking, and Materials & Chemical Engineering, as well as its systematic talent training system. He stated that the university has been deeply engaged in the light industry and papermaking sector for decades, boasting a robust team of research faculty and sound channels for talent cultivation and research achievement transformation. He spoke highly of Baichuan Paper’s industrial advantages and development potential in the high-end specialty paper niche market.
Liu Yu proposed taking this on-site research visit as a new opportunity for cooperation to build a two-way collaborative resource channel between the university and the enterprise. The university will continuously supply professional papermaking technicians to the company and share cutting-edge industry research results. Both sides will jointly break through technical bottlenecks in new specialty paper development and intelligent production line upgrading, so as to achieve a win-win situation where the university’s scientific research achievements are industrialized and the enterprise boosts innovation and product quality.
